Emergency Care Design Competition, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead
As part of Interserve’s ProCure21+ team, the Practice was involved with a feasibility study to deliver a state-of-the-art emergency care centre and pathology unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and centralising Pathology services south of the Tyne.
The design was based around improving patient waiting times; implementing lean planning to produce more efficent working environments for hospital staff. The design also featured innovative use of materials for the creation of the new-build emergency care centre and refurbishment of old stores to become the pathology hub.
