The practice was commissioned in the summer 2012 to develop proposals for a multi-storey car park at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
766 parking spaces are provided over 4 floors with ancillary accommodation that includes public WC’s and a security control room. The building is fully monitored by C.C.T.V. A number of battery charging points are incorporated into the design for electrically operated vehicles. The external area has also been landscaped to create a scenic view as patients and visitors drive into the hospital grounds. The car park was a crucial element in an improved traffic management system for the trust.
