The Priestly Unit comprises 2 acute inpatient facilities, OPD and medical record storage for South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, situated on the Dewsbury District Hospital Site.
The redevelopment of Ward 19 of the Priestly Unit allows for the improvement of the services for the older persons inpatient provision. The scheme includes new reception area and provision of 100% single bedrooms. To enhance the privacy and dignity of the patients the unit consisted of a male and female split with bathroom and communal facilities provided separately for both groups. The project was procured via the P21 framework agreement in partnership with Interserve.
