Space Utilisation Survey, Dewsbury & District Hospital
Building on the Practice’s experience with Development Control Plans the client required a full survey / space utilisation of all buildings on the Dewsbury & District Hospital site.
The primary tasks involved:
• Check building layout plans and departments
• Check staffing levels
• Check spare capacity / non used areas
• Check all fire doors and compartmentation
• Identify space for reutilisation from other areas within the Trust
• Check functional suitability / assessment
• Apply Estate Code Classification / consideration of 6 Facet Survey
• Include all HUB locations and relevant infrastructure services.
• Consider what repairs or replacement are required regarding FD60 fire doors following detailed survey
• Re-drawing fire strategy from information supplied by the Trust into AutoCAD format
• All buildings / site to be updated as a current record with presentation drawings highlighting function and spatial staffing level
Additional survey work was also required of other Trust properties beyond the site, totalling 13 no. properties total.
